Pattern licensing
Most of my patterns start on a trip: Mughal florals from India, Talavera tiles from Puebla, lemons from the Mediterranean, nazars from the Gulf. You can license them for textiles, packaging, stationery and home decor, and I’m happy to paint new colourways to fit your range.

FAQ
Do you take illustration commissions?
Yes! I paint gouache illustrations for magazines, packaging, menus, labels and textiles, and make short animated loops for social. Tell me what you have in mind below.
What are your rates?
It depends on the project, so I quote each one. Share your budget and timeline in the form and I’ll come back with a proposal.
Do you license your patterns?
Yes. You can license my patterns for textiles, packaging, stationery and home decor, and I can paint custom colourways. Some are also for sale by the yard on Spoonflower and Raspberry Creek Fabrics, and you’ll find more on Pattern Bank.
Can you write about Mexico City?
Yes, it’s one of my bases. I also write about the UAE, where I grew up, the wider GCC, India and the US.
Do you write about health and science?
Yes. Some favourites: why dancing can do more for depression than antidepressants (National Geographic), and my own essay on discovering I have aphantasia, Life without a mind’s eye (Brain Health Today).
Do you write about yoga and breathwork?
Very much. I did my 200-hour Hatha teacher training at Samyak Yoga in Mysore in 2017, I teach pranayama after studying The Complete Principles of Pranayama with BNS Iyengar, and I’m Yahoo Health’s yoga expert.
Do you design websites?
Yes, including this one. I design, write and build sites for small businesses and creatives, especially in food, hospitality, travel and culture.
Can you fact-check or update guidebook content?
Yes. I co-author Lonely Planet guidebooks and regularly research, fact-check and update chapters on India, the GCC, Mexico and the US.
Where are you based, and do you work with clients abroad?
I’m based between Mexico City and Abu Dhabi, and work remotely with editors, brands and businesses all over the world.
